Geographic location (as of 31 December, 2006)
The geographic distribution of the beneficiary SMEs which have received BAS Programme support follows the pattern of geographic location of SMEs in Bulgaria as a whole. The majority of SMEs are based in the capital city Sofia and in Plovdiv and Varna regions.
The Programme aims to have a large proportion of projects in the less developed regions outside the capital city areas and this is being achieved. To end December 2006, the regional proportion is 70% of the project outside of the capital.
